Global Girl Voices

Welcome to a new initiative from Global Girl Project: Global Girl Voices. This is a space for our girls to share their thoughts, opinions, ideas, and stories with the world.

At Global Girl Project, our mission is to mobilise girls around the world for social change though community development and social action. Part of that mission is about amplifying the voices of girls who have so much to say, so much dynamism and so many ideas, but who are not given the platform, the support, or the respect that they so deserve.

As part of our Global Girl Leadership Initiative (GGLI), girls begin to get in touch with their voice. What does it sound like? What do they want to say? How do they use it for change? As girls emerge from the GGLI, excited and feeling powerful, they always ask us, ‘what next?’

Part of what’s next is being a member of our Global Graduates Connect network, which offers opportunities for continued learning and connection with girls all over the world. One of these opportunities is to continue developing their ability to write and tell stories, stretching their voices and challenging themselves and others. We support the girls through a specially designed writing training, the outcome of which is a number of written pieces from girls all over the world. Some of these they want to share, some they don’t. Some are in English, but most are not. This is about girls building their own confidence and sharing their stories, but also finding them and keeping them for themselves, if that’s what feels best or most powerful for them at that time.

We hope you enjoy learning more about our girls and their power, and come away from Global Girl Voices having learnt something and feeling inspired.

Thank you to all our girls for being the inspiration we all need to make change in the world, and for showing us the true power and impact of community- and women-led change.
