A bit about Sarah...

As an infant, Culberson was placed in foster care and was then adopted by a loving white family in West Virginia. She grew up contemplating and dealing with questions about her identity and her biracial roots. She learned that her biological mother died when she was just 11, and her birth father lived in a village in Sierra Leone, West Africa. She learned about her royal family, and discovered is a Mahaloi, the granddaughter of a Paramount Chief, with the status of a princess. She also learned of the difficulties and privations of Sierra Leone’s people following a brutal 11-year civil war that ended in 2002. Princess Sarah’s story has been featured on CNN, Good Morning America, LA Times, BBC in London and more.  Her book, “A Princess Found” co-authored with Tracy Trivas can be found at Barnes and Noble and Amazon.

Culberson has danced and acted on stage as well as in films and TV, she earned her MFA at The American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco and joined the Los Angeles acting community. She danced professionally for five years with the Urban Latin Theater Dance Company,  CONTRA-TIEMPO. Culberson and her brother Hindo Kposowa co-founded Sierra Leone Rising a non-profit supporting Public Health, Education and Female Empowerment in Sierra Leone.

We are excited to have her involved in our summit!
